Catarina Gomes

Catarina Gomes is a Portuguese journalist and author born in Lisbon in 1975. After a two-decade career at the newspaper PÚBLICO, she embarked on a journey to become a novelist, which she successfully achieved with her debut novel 'Terrinhas', published in 2022. This work earned her the Agustina Bessa-Luís Revelation Prize, awarded for an unpublished novel. Known for her insightful exploration of memory and identity, Gomes has previously published works addressing the impacts of the Colonial War in Portugal. She will be featured as a guest at the March Reading Meeting, discussing 'Terrinhas' with literature enthusiasts.
