Catherine Eshikutu

Catherine Eshikutu, a 38-year-old woman, was recently in the news after being fined Sh 100 million and sentenced to eight years and six months in prison for her involvement in a criminal enterprise linked to transnational organized crime. Eshikutu, who lost her parents at a young age and faced a difficult childhood, turned to sex work as a means of survival. In court, she expressed her struggles as a mother of two and claimed to have reformed during her lengthy trial. However, the magistrate noted a lack of remorse and emphasized the serious nature of her offenses.
