Cecep Selamat, a 66-year-old former exporter from Tangerang, Indonesia, has faced significant challenges in his later years, including health issues and the loss of family support. After a successful career exporting cloves and nutmeg, he experienced a decline in fortune due to poor choices, leading to financial difficulties and health complications that resulted in the amputation of his leg. Now residing in the Sentra Terpadu Pangudi Luhur (STPL) in Bekasi, Cecep has found a renewed sense of purpose. He engages in various activities, including leading a cooperative and participating in crafts and music, showing that resilience in old age comes from acceptance and the desire to contribute to others.
