Celia Josefina Carballo Pleitez De Lazaro was a 40-year-old Guatemalan national who tragically lost her life in a motorcycle accident on May 25, 2025. She was riding pillion with her partner Francisco Cortez on the Philip Goldson Highway when their motorcycle was struck by another rider, Ector Soler. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Celia was pronounced dead on arrival. Her untimely death has drawn attention to road safety issues and the consequences of negligent driving.
