Chaim Rumkowski

Chaim Rumkowski was the controversial leader of the Jewish Council in the Łódź Ghetto during World War II. He is known for his attempts to negotiate with the Nazis and his policy of forced labor, believing that work could save the ghetto's inhabitants from extermination.
