Chana Salas

Chana Salas, of indigenous descent, is historically noted as the wife of Lucas Vargas, a Spanish migrant who, in 1865, co-founded the tradition of cheese-making in Turrialba, Costa Rica, which led to the creation of the renowned queso Turrialba.
