Chano Pozo

Chano Pozo was a celebrated Cuban percussionist and composer, best known for his contributions to the development of Afro-Cuban jazz in the 1940s. Born in 1915, he became famous for his virtuosic conga playing and his collaborations with American jazz musicians, including Dizzy Gillespie. Pozo's innovative fusion of traditional Cuban rhythms with jazz elements helped to shape the sound of Latin music, making him a significant figure in the genre's history.
