Charles Montagu
Charles Montagu, 1st Duke of Manchester, was a British nobleman and politician who was granted the title of duke in 1719 by King George I. He played a significant role in the early 18th century British aristocracy, and his lineage eventually led to the rise and fall of the Montagu family, once one of the wealthiest and most powerful in Britain.
