Charles Oppenheimer

Charles Oppenheimer is the grandson of Robert Oppenheimer, the scientific director of the Manhattan Project, which developed the atomic bomb. At 50 years old, he has transitioned from a successful career as a technical architect and business angel in Silicon Valley to a mission-driven advocate for nuclear energy and its potential benefits. He founded the Oppenheimer Project and Oppenheimer Energy Ventures, organizations focused on addressing existential risks associated with nuclear proliferation and promoting the responsible use of nuclear fission technology. Recently, he visited Zagreb to discuss the future of nuclear energy at the UNWASTED 2025 Forum, emphasizing the urgency of addressing global threats.
