Charles Wautier

Charles Wautier was a 17th-century Flemish painter, known primarily as the brother of the pioneering female artist Michaelina Wautier. He played a significant role in the artistic environment of his time, and while his own works are less recognized, he is often associated with the artistic training and influence he provided to his sister, who defied the conventions of her era by painting subjects that were largely prohibited to women.
