Chen Yi-chung

Chen Yi-chung is a Taipei City Councilor representing the Democratic Progressive Party. Recently, she made headlines after pleading guilty to charges of corruption and fraudulently claiming subsidies, alongside her office head, Chang Hui-lin. Their actions reportedly included improperly claiming NT$3.84 million in subsidies by falsely listing individuals as assistants, as well as accepting bribes for expedited construction permits. Despite her guilty plea and requests for leniency, Chen's legal troubles have raised significant concerns regarding public trust in elected officials.
