Cheryl Bawtinheimer is a former member of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church who has come forward with allegations of childhood sexual abuse perpetrated by an elder of the church. After escaping the church at age 17, she has become an outspoken advocate for victims of abuse, co-hosting a podcast called 'Get a Life: Ex-Cult Conversations' that sheds light on the alleged mistreatment within the church. Recently, she has been in the news due to a lawsuit filed against her by the Brethren charity, the Rapid Relief Team, which claims infringement of copyright in relation to her critical videos about the organization.
