Chiara Bonini

Chiara Bonini is a prominent Italian hematologist and researcher, currently leading the Experimental Hematology Unit at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. With over three decades of experience in gene therapy, she has made significant contributions to the treatment of blood cancers, particularly through her pioneering work with genetically modified T cells. Bonini's research has led to the development of innovative therapies that enhance the immune system's ability to combat cancer, including the groundbreaking CAR-T therapy. She is also a professor at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University and has received the prestigious Ham-Wasserman Lecture award for her substantial contributions to hematology.
