Chris Anne Affleck, born Christopher Anne Boldt in December 1942 in New York City, was a dedicated public school teacher and civil rights activist. She taught literacy in Mississippi during the Freedom Summer and participated in anti-Vietnam War protests, embodying the spirit of the 1960s counterculture. After volunteering for Barack Obama's campaign, she became an organizer for the Palestine Justice Alliance following a trip to Israel and Palestine in 2009. Affleck passed away on June 2, 2026, after battling pancreatic cancer, two days after witnessing her grandson's high school graduation.
