Chris Barns, affectionately known as 'Brolga,' is the founder of a kangaroo sanctuary in the Northern Territory of Australia, dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating orphaned joeys. His work, which began in 2009, has turned into a beloved tourist attraction where he nurtures around 40 baby kangaroos at a time and releases about 300 rehabilitated adults back into the wild each year. Brolga's passion for kangaroos and his engaging personality have garnered international attention, inspiring a BBC documentary series and a forthcoming children’s film, 'Kangaroo,' which is loosely based on his life.
