Christian Hänggi

Christian Hänggi is a passionate activist against commercial advertising in public spaces, having fought against it for over 20 years. He is the founder of the IG Plakat Raum Gesellschaft, an organization dedicated to monitoring advertising practices in Zurich. Hänggi employs a stopwatch to measure how long advertisements are displayed, highlighting discrepancies in advertising regulations. His efforts have recently led to the Zurich city parliament passing a motion that significantly reduces advertising space in the city, as part of a broader initiative to combat overconsumption and its environmental impact.
