Christopher Maye

Christopher (Christy) Maye was a pioneering hotelier and entrepreneur best known for introducing the first disco to Ireland, transforming the entertainment landscape. Born in 1942 in County Longford, he initially trained as a psychiatric nurse but shifted his focus to hospitality, owning several hotels and restaurants in the Midlands. He founded the Tullamore Show, significantly contributing to the local economy and community, and remained active in tourism and charity until his passing in 2025.
