Christos Emm. Angelomatis

Christos Emm. Angelomatis (1899-1979) was a notable Greek scholar and thinker, originally from Smyrna, who later became a prominent intellectual figure in Athens. His writings often reflected on the cultural and historical transformations of the city, particularly in the context of urban development and the preservation of architectural heritage. In a 1936 article, he lamented the decay of historical structures in Athens, exemplified by the once-grand residence of the Countess Theotokis, showcasing his deep concern for the loss of cultural identity amidst modernization.
