Christos Georgalas

Christos Georgalas is a Greek surgeon known for his work in the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, Gaza, where he treated many children suffering from trauma and malnutrition amidst the ongoing humanitarian crisis. His firsthand experiences highlight the dire conditions faced by medical professionals and patients in conflict zones, as he reported severe shortages of food and medical supplies, along with a high incidence of malnutrition that complicates recovery for injured children. After leaving Gaza, he shared insights about the overwhelming challenges his colleagues continue to face, including lack of pay and safety concerns.
