Claire Iddon

Claire Iddon, a former early childhood education teacher in Porirua, recently lost her registration due to serious misconduct involving alcohol impairment while supervising preschool children. Following incidents reported by staff, which included signs of intoxication and erratic behavior, a tribunal determined that her actions compromised the safety and wellbeing of the children in her care. Iddon admitted to consuming alcohol as a coping mechanism, and despite being described as capable when well, her inconsistent attendance and behavior led to her censure and the cancellation of her teaching registration.
