Claudio Mittner

Claudio Mittner is a Swiss helicopter pilot renowned for his expertise in high-altitude rescue operations. At 33 years old, he has amassed significant experience flying in the challenging terrains of Switzerland and has been conducting helicopter missions in Nepal since 2019. Mittner is one of the few pilots globally capable of performing rescue missions at altitudes exceeding 7,000 meters. His recent insights into the complexities of helicopter operations in extreme conditions were highlighted following the tragic death of German biathlete Laura Dahlmeier, whose body remains on Laila Peak, complicating recovery efforts.
