After the colony closed in 2013, he was adopted by public servant Danny Taurozzi, where he adapted to indoor life and became a cherished companion. Coal even campaigned for prime minister in 2015, advocating for animal rights, and volunteered at a local long-term care home, providing comfort to veterans. He passed away peacefully at the age of 17, leaving a legacy of kindness and compassion.
