Craig Nolte

Craig 'Zebbo' Nolte was a carpenter in his 50s from Ballina, NSW, who tragically became the first person in New South Wales to contract and die from bat lyssavirus after being bitten by a bat eight months prior to his death on July 3. Despite receiving prophylactic treatment for the bite, health authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding his rapid decline from the disease.
