Cristhian Fonseca

Cristhian Fonseca is the president of the Association of Cañicultores in Mauricio José Troche, representing around 2,000 sugarcane farmers and more than 50,000 families who depend on the sugarcane industry. Recently, he was in the news for his role in negotiating an agreement with the National Government concerning the construction of a new milling train, which is critical for improving the operational capacity of local sugarcane production. Fonseca emphasized the importance of holding an assembly with fellow farmers to discuss the decision-making process and thanked the 6,000 farmers who participated in protests to advocate for better infrastructure and support for the sector.
