Cristina Alonso

Cristina Alonso is an industrial engineer and the head of the Climate Justice area at the environmental organization Amigas de la Tierra. She has been an outspoken critic of the expansion of renewable energy projects that involve companies linked to controversial practices, arguing that energy transitions must align with human rights. Recently, she raised concerns over the involvement of the Israeli company Enlight Renewable Energy in Spain’s largest wind farm expansion, claiming it promotes 'the economy of apartheid and illegal occupation' in Gaza.
