Crystal deGregory

Dr. Crystal deGregory is a prominent historian and advocate for women's rights, currently serving as an associate professor of history and the founding director of the Mary McLeod Bethune Institute for the Study of Women and Girls at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida. She has been vocal about the underrepresentation of women in politics in The Bahamas, highlighting that only seven of the 39 seats in the House of Assembly are held by women, despite women comprising half of the nation's population.
