Crystal Gail Mangum

Crystal Gail Mangum is best known for being at the center of the Duke University lacrosse scandal, where she falsely accused three Duke lacrosse players of rape in 2006. Her claims led to a national media frenzy and significant legal repercussions for the accused players, who were later exonerated. In 2011, Mangum was convicted of murdering her boyfriend, Reginald Daye, and sentenced to 14-18 years in prison before being released in 2024.
