Dace Kārkla

Dace Kārkla is the director of the Liepāja Occupation Museum, which is notable for being the only museum dedicated to the theme of occupation outside of Riga, Latvia. Under her leadership, the museum has recently launched a new core exhibition titled 'Trīsreiz okupētā. Liepāja Otrā pasaules karā un pēc tā', which covers the period from World War II to the subsequent repressions and deportations. Kārkla emphasizes engaging the local community, particularly youth, in the museum's narrative and has incorporated their feedback into the exhibition's design, ensuring a modern and interactive approach to history.
