Dahiana

Dahiana was a 16-year-old girl who tragically became a victim of systemic failures in the child protection system in Uruguay. After experiencing severe trauma, including sexual violence and exploitation, she faced an unplanned pregnancy that led to complications during childbirth. Despite her precarious health and alarming circumstances, she did not receive the timely care she needed, resulting in her death shortly after giving birth. Dahiana's case highlights the vulnerabilities faced by adolescents in state care and the critical lapses in their protection.
