Daisy-Fau Tanuvasa

Daisy-Fau Tanuvasa is the residential manager at the Auckland Region Women’s Correctional Facility, where she oversees the Puppies in Prison programme. This initiative pairs inmates with puppies to aid in both the dogs' training and the rehabilitation of the women. Tanuvasa has observed significant improvements in the behaviour and mental well-being of the women involved, attributing these changes to the companionship and emotional support provided by the dogs, which fosters a sense of belonging and purpose within the prison environment.
