
Dame Helen Winkelmann
Dame Helen Winkelmann is the Chief Justice of New Zealand, having been appointed to the position in 2019. She is the first woman to hold this role and has made significant contributions to the New Zealand legal system, advocating for access to justice and the rule of law. Winkelmann has had a distinguished career in law, having served as a judge on the Court of Appeal and as a High Court judge prior to her appointment as Chief Justice.
