Damien Traynor

Damien Traynor is a former Army apprentice who has come forward with allegations of physical and verbal abuse he endured during his training in the early 1990s. Speaking at the Defence Forces Tribunal, Traynor described harrowing experiences of being physically assaulted by senior officers, which contributed to significant mental health struggles, including self-harm and suicidal thoughts. Despite these challenges, Traynor has since built a successful business and reflects on his lost military career with emotion, emphasizing his desire to serve and the pride he felt when his platoon stood together against unjust treatment of fellow apprentices.
