Dan Meyer is the president of the International Sword Swallowers Association and an advocate for the ancient art of sword swallowing. Recognizing the dwindling recognition of this perilous performance art, he initiated the creation of World Sword Swallower’s Day, celebrated on the last Saturday of February, to raise awareness about the skill and dedication of sword swallowers and to honor their historical significance.
