Daniel Cressy

Daniel Cressy is a 23-year-old resident of Metairie, Louisiana, who recently made history by becoming the first person in the Gulf Coast region of the United States to be functionally cured of sickle cell disease through advanced gene therapy. His successful treatment at Manning Family Children's Hospital has inspired hopes for others in the community, as he strives to fulfill his dream of becoming a commercial pilot. Cressy has expressed his desire to write a book and establish a nonprofit organization aimed at helping those facing medical and social challenges.
