Daniel Nathans

Daniel Nathans was an American microbiologist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1978 for his discovery of the role of viruses in genetic recombination. He was a mentor to several prominent scientists, including Vann Bennett, and has made significant contributions to the understanding of molecular genetics.
