Daniela Salzotto

Daniela Salzotto is the mayor of Catriel, a city in the northeast of Río Negro, Argentina. A member of the Peronist party, she has formed her own political front called the 'Frente de Acción Vecinal' (FAV) and successfully won the mayoral election in 2023 with over 51% of the votes. As a psychologist, Salzotto has been an advocate for public health initiatives, including a proposed narcotest for local officials to combat substance abuse. However, her efforts to address transparency and accountability in government have led to significant political tensions, culminating in a threatening incident involving Alberto Ariaudo, the president of the Council of Deliberative, who brandished a firearm in a confrontation with her.
