Danielius Jurkus

Danielius Jurkus was a heroic figure during World War II, known for his courageous efforts in saving Jewish lives in Lithuania. He, along with his wife Marija Jurkienė, provided shelter and protection to those fleeing persecution, showcasing remarkable bravery and humanity during one of history's darkest periods. Recently, a memorial plaque honoring their contributions was approved for installation in Vilnius, recognizing their legacy as Righteous Among the Nations.
