Danielle de Niese

Danielle de Niese is an acclaimed Australian opera soprano, known for her vibrant performances and compelling interpretations of classic roles in major opera houses around the world. Born in Melbourne to Sri Lankan immigrant parents, she demonstrated remarkable talent from a young age, making her professional debut with the Los Angeles Opera at just 15 and later achieving significant recognition at the Metropolitan Opera by 19. A versatile artist, de Niese has sung iconic roles such as Cleopatra and Susanna, and she is currently making her debut as Carmen at the Sydney Opera House. In addition to her singing, she is dedicated to outreach efforts and serves as an ambassador for the International Rescue Committee.
