Daniil Sazonov

Daniil Sazonov is a Finnish politician of Russian descent, recently elected as the mayor of Helsinki. Born in 1993 in Helsinki to parents who emigrated from Saint Petersburg in the 1990s, Sazonov has been an active member of the National Coalition Party. He became a city councilor in 2017 and served as deputy mayor for social affairs and health since 2021. His election campaign focused on enhancing the city's aesthetics and improving public transportation. Sazonov's background has drawn criticism from political opponents, but he remains a prominent figure in Finnish politics.
