Danilo López

Danilo López is a veteran naval engineer and the first naval engineer trained at the University of the Republic in Uruguay, graduating in 1980. He has decades of experience in building and repairing boats and previously directed the Astillero Montevideo-Nitromar until his retirement. López is recognized for his insights into the challenges facing Uruguay's shipbuilding industry, particularly regarding the feasibility of constructing Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) locally, highlighting the need for skilled labor and infrastructure to support such projects.
