Dante Lino Galán Marte

Dante Lino Galán Marte was a Dominican police general who mysteriously disappeared on November 30, 1996, while scuba diving near Isla Saona. Along with three companions, he was engaged in a diving and fishing expedition when they encountered difficulties. After a failed attempt to stay together, the group split up to increase their chances of rescue. While two members were eventually found alive and one deceased, Galán Marte was never located despite extensive search efforts involving local authorities and U.S. Coast Guard resources. His disappearance raised various speculations, including theories related to his potential promotion within the police force.
