Dave Van Zwanenberg

Dave Van Zwanenberg was a firefighter who tragically lost his life during a rescue operation following a major landslide in Muriwai, Auckland, caused by Cyclone Gabrielle in February 2023. He was part of a team that responded to a critical emergency situation and, despite their efforts, Dave’s body was recovered two days after the incident, highlighting the risks first responders face in extreme weather conditions.
