David Desfougères

Contre-amiral David Desfougères has recently been appointed as the new head of the Force de l’aéronautique navale, following a notable military career that began with his entrance into the naval academy in 1994. He is a seasoned fighter pilot with nearly 3,000 flight hours and has commanded various naval aviation squadrons, including the Super Étendard modernized aircraft. His operational experience spans multiple conflict zones, including Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, and Iraq, and he has also served aboard the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle. His extensive background in both aviation and surface operations positions him as a highly qualified leader in the French naval aviation community.
