
David Polson
David Polson AO was a long-term HIV survivor and advocate who played a pivotal role in HIV education and awareness in Australia. Diagnosed with HIV in the early 1980s, he underwent numerous drug trials and became an outspoken supporter for those affected by the virus. His commitment to the community led to the establishment of Qtopia, a museum honoring the history and struggles of people impacted by HIV/AIDS in Australia. Recognized for his significant contributions to community health, he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2023.
