Dawn Allen-Williamson

Cllr Dawn Allen-Williamson made history as the first black woman to chair Watford Borough Council, a role she has held since May 2022, where she has focused on community representation and fundraising initiatives. Originally from Jamaica, she moved to the UK in 1991 and has been active in local politics since winning her council seat in 2019. Her personal experiences with housing injustices motivated her to advocate for the community, and she has dedicated her time as chairwoman to supporting local charities and raising awareness about critical social issues.
