Dawson Farley

Dawson Farley is a Sangamon County Sheriff’s deputy who was present during the shooting of Sonya Massey, a Black woman who called 911 for help. His body camera footage played a crucial role in the trial of fellow deputy Sean Grayson, who was found guilty of second-degree murder in Massey’s death. Farley testified that he did not view Massey as a threat during the encounter and did not fire his weapon.
