Delmy Castillo is the coordinator of Genetic Resources at the Instituto de Ciencia y Tecnología Agrícolas (ICTA) in Guatemala, where she plays a pivotal role in the conservation of the nation's genetic seed heritage, overseeing a germplasm bank that houses nearly 3,000 accessions of seeds and plant materials, ensuring the preservation of Guatemala's agricultural diversity and traditional food culture.
