Delphin Katembo, popularly known as Delcat Idengo, was a Congolese musician renowned for his outspoken criticism of both the Congolese government and the Rwandan-backed M23 rebels. His songs resonated with many in eastern Congo, particularly in his hometown of Beni, where he became a symbol of resistance against oppressive regimes. Idengo faced multiple arrests for his political activism and was tragically killed in an apparent attack by M23 fighters, shortly after releasing a new song that condemned armed groups. His death sparked widespread mourning and protests among his supporters.
