Denis Bello

Denis Bello was a British scientist who tragically lost his life at the age of 25 while working for the Falkland Islands Dependencies Research Survey, which later became the British Antarctic Survey. He died on July 26, 1959, in Admiralty Bay on King George Island, Antarctica, when he fell into a crevasse while exploring a glacier with three colleagues. His remains were discovered 66 years later, revealing a poignant human story intertwined with the history of Antarctic research.
