Dennis Martínez

Dennis Martínez is a former Nicaraguan professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1976 to 1998. Renowned for being the first Nicaraguan to play in the MLB, he had a successful career with several teams, including the Montreal Expos and the Baltimore Orioles, and is celebrated for his contributions to baseball in Nicaragua. Martínez also managed the Nicaraguan national team during their inaugural participation in the World Baseball Classic, where he helped raise expectations for the team.
